Abstract
A service evaluation was carried out to establish the effectiveness of Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) within the NHS in Sandwell. Over a 13 month period, clients accessing the service for a range of emotional conditions were studied. At the start and end of their treatment, clients were asked to complete CORE10, WEMWBS, Rosenberg Self-Esteem and HAD Scales. Thirty-nine clients gave consent, and 31 completed therapy. The main presenting conditions were anxiety, depression and anger. Statistically and (where appropriate) clinically significant improvements were recorded for all scales. Despite limitations, the results support the potential of EFT as a cost-effective treatment for a range of psychological and physical disorders.
