Healing into life after sport: Dealing with student-athlete loss, grief, and transition with EFT
Wooten, H. R.

Abstract
Student athletes are some of the most highly trained and celebrated groups in our society. However, for as highly prepared as they are for athletic competition, they are often unprepared for life after sport. The goal of this manuscript is to present a brief overview of the context and developmental anomalies experienced by many athletes, difficulties in dealing with loss and grief, and the alternative therapy Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) as an approach to deal effectively with student athletes’ experience of loss.
