Up, Up and Away … Fly Your Beautiful Balloon

Beautiful balloons in the air
Do you want to soar, as a person, in your career, in your business?

There are really two sides to that. Isn't that funny, on this planet, there's always an upside and downside? Or the two sides of the coin. Okay, you want to soar. What are those two ways to do it?

What makes your balloon fly higher
What personal things lift your career and your business? These are things like your education, your ambition and your drive, your training and skills. You're never quite satisfied and always strive to add to your repertoire. Maybe better business plans or interviewing techniques. Be it having superior connections and networks or leadership skills and financial backing just as a few examples.

What holds your balloon down
The extra weight and ballast slow you down. There could be many things. But the weight which can pull you down so often is STRESS. Why is stress so overlooked? Because stress is often hidden. You have a challenging situation, perhaps something different and unusual. You handle it the best you can. And yet afterward you think I could have done this or that. Why didn't I think and remember to handle it differently?

Here is the most insidious effect of stress: when you feel stress your old subconscious brain immediately pulls blood out of your thinking brain. This was an old survival trick 100,000 years ago. And still, this old part of your brain has not yet adapted. Therefore, even today when you feel too much pressure, stress, your brain will make your thinking foggy and your memory weaker. So if you try to think and your judgment is just a little bit reduced you can see and feel how your performance suffers.

The 2nd factor why stress can be so powerful to sabotage you in your job and business is that we never really learn to manage it. Neither in school nor at our universities are we taught and prepared for stress. The reason is few people understand how stress is generated in your brain and fewer still how to reduce it, how to manage it.

Let's review this...

There are 2 ways to improve your career and business. One is to work harder, smarter, have better tools and a better team. The other is to get rid of inhibitors, stresses and other things hidden in your subconscious old brain which hold you back and sap your effectiveness and energy.

Therefore, if you really want to soar in your beautiful balloon, your career and your business, you have to drop the ballast. You must get rid of things which hold you down. You need to drop the sandbags.

What will drop your performance and your energy in an instant? What are your biggest "sandbags?" The answer is STRESS.

  • Is there less staff to share and an increased workload?
  • Do you take care of children, family, and also work?
  • Is someone near you ill or need some special care?
  • Do your kids have trouble at school or university?
  • Are you overscheduled or burned out?

These are just some of the big weights which hold you down, and …

Instantly those stresses make your thinking foggy, your memory weak and your decisions unreliable. There are many more effects to be worried about.
>> See the many ways how stress impacts your performance

Much worse: overtime stress will affect your health and well-being. Medical science tells us that 80% of all disease is related to stress. Stress will age you faster and even change your genes.  And what can kill your energy for career and business more than being ill and feeling old?
>> See how long-term stress affects your health, your biological age, your appearance

  • The immediate effects of stress which kill your performance.
  • The long-term effects of stress destroy your health and make you miserable.
  • And in the end stress will cause you to age so much faster than you should.

At SciStress, we are experts at helping you get rid of the inhibitors. Why are most of these inhibitors caused by stress? Simple, because stress is a result of the basic function of the old brain, your survival brain 100,000 old and older. This is not always quite useful in modern times. But the human brain doesn't change that quickly. That's why you have to take control and learn to manage stress.

Best wishes for a productive life free of destructive STRESS!
